Anybody know if for an adressable loop system. Class A, if I need to run 3 core and earth in fp200, or is twin&earth ok? Or will it depend on the panel I get?[/b]

The operation of one should operate the others so three core will be needed to interlink them, as far as cable type what type of property is it being installed in?

It does need to be fp200, its a communal area in a block of flats, was just checkin on how many cores

I take it you are talking about a full fire alarm system with addressable detectors and a central panel?
Sounder circuits need to be on some sort of fire retardant cable. Not sure why you think you need 3c+e, have a read of the MI for the panel. Also worthwhile checking the BS for fire alarm systems as I haven't installed any recently so am a bit rusty on them.

Addressable systems can normally be wired in two core. MI, FP or the like is desirable for the whole system but is definitely a must for sounder circuits and the supply. The rest of it comes down to the designer's specs/local requirements
