Fireproof hidden beam?

Where is the evidence to confirm 12.5mm plasterboard with a skim finish will achieve 30mins fire resistance?
Can we agree 30 minutes is half an hour ,which is a fixed time , but there is a 'modified ' half hour fire resisting construction accepted by Building Control for first floors in houses ( not over an integral garage ) of not more than 2 storeys , and this can be met with a 12.5mm plasterboard and skim ceiling ( and floor finish and joists as necessary of course) Thousands of architects and builders will have used this construction for years and personally I must have worked on at least 100's of houses approved by Local Authority and NHBC Building Control using this construction.
