Many thanks - I appreciate it. And will follow your advice regarding the primer. Not many places over here distributing Lecol, but have someone in County Monaghan with stock, so fingers crossed I should be able to get it down to the south-west of the county soon.

Hope to begin laying parquet in the next few weeks or so (depending on other committments and so on), and with luck I'll be OK, but I might post again for info if that's OK... or if a disaster looms!

thanks very much! i found a few weblinks with some information, but many of them were from the States, and they'd recommend or talk of products that might be difficult to locate.... yours is very straightforward and encouraging. thanks again for your help.
