Fitting A Hall Light

S

Shutpa

Daughter phoned to say that she wants to fit a light in the hall. Problem is that the existing one is operated by a three-way switch and she doesn't know which of the terminals in the ceiling rose she should connect the light to. There are three cables being fed into the rose, presumably all with L,N and E. Any ideas?

If it is a ceiling rose.

then at the light she wishes to change there will be 1 wire that goes into the L block (there will actually be another that supplies the lamp)

Normally looking left to right across the inside you will see

N LOOP L

The one into L is the one she needs to connect to the L on the fitting.

Cheers mate. When you said look on wiki, I hadn't a clue what you were on about, so I tried to do a search for it. Almost 5 years on this site and I never knew wiki existed. Have printed out the diagram and am sure that it will do the trick. Thanks again.
