Fitting a new power shower and immersion heater - legal requirements

We will be replacing the electric boiler and fitting a power shower and this will require wiring up the pump for the shower and of course wiring for the new boiler. My question is do I need to get an electrician to do this or can I do it myself and remain within the law?
