Hello,
I need to install a new external door for the entrance to block of 6 flats. The existing opening for the current UPVC french door and side lights measures 3040mm wide x 2150mmm high. I am considering replacing the UPVC French Doors, they are knackered. My idea is to cut/grind out the French Doors by inserting a pre-hung wooden external door in the gap that the will be left and frame the door with wood and cover the gap between the UPVC side lights and new door frame with exterior plywood. I have included a picture, there is currently a sliding gate for extra security that I will also remove. The external look needs to be tidy but not exquisite, becuase these flats are rented out in quite a gritty area.
Is there anything I should consider when doing this job?
Many thanks
