fitting a solid oak floor in Home office

further to my previous post

I now find myself in planning to fit solid oak planks approx 120mm wide 18mm thick.
Due to the glue in the T&G the only viable way was to cut off the tongues and sand down groove edges to remove excess glue.

This means I can no longer float the floor.

As its a home office/summerhouse it doesnt have to be perfect.

The summerhouse is 3m x 2.3m
The floor is 18mm osb which is very level.

My original thoughts were to lay some polystyrene sheet type of underlay (as I have it) and fit the planks starting at the entrance (longest wall) and work towards the back.
I was intending to leave 8mm gap around the edges (but will change that to 10mm unless the moisture is below 6%, in which case I will increase it) and put a spacer of about 0.5mm between the planks both length and width.

As I cant secret nail I was just going to go through the face of the planks with a nail gun (16g d head)

Once installed I will then sand down and re varnish


Does this sound ok? or a complete nightmare?
