Hi I am thinking of fitting a timer switch to my immersion heater. I have seen one advertised in screwfix direct (7 day digital timer) has anyone used this before for this type of job??

The switch to the immersion is a fused switch so I assume that I would connect the timer in the same way ie two sets of wires going to FEED and one set of wires (thinner guage) going to LOAD. It says on the timmer spec that its easy to fit using the existing back box.

any advice would be appreciated.

Can you add a link to the time switch that you propose to use?

Looks OK to me although it will need a flush double back box.

Your existing fused switch will be on one side wired as it is at present. The load side from the switch will connect to the feed on time switch. The immersion will connect to the load side of the time switch

Thanks will let you know how I get on
