Hello
As the original external mouldings above our bay window had slumped and were starting to look pretty dodgy - we removed these and had new concrete cast mouldings made to replace these. The builders have already put the scratch coat and rendered ontop in the area where the mouldings are to go. As it seems pretty straightforward enough we've decided to save our pennies and fit the mouldings ourselves. There are a couple of holes in each section of moulding for screws but for additional fitting think it'll be best to use some type of concrete/mortar compound to make sure the mouldings stay in place.
Bearing in mind these are external walls, and a render has already been placed ontop of the scratch coat - what mortar mix would be best to use? Would it be something with an adhesive mixed in to make sure the mouldings don't shift or fall?
Or would a really stong glue plus metal rods be good? Really confused. Have googled and googled and not found anything on the topic.
Any help/suggestions much appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Molly
