Hi all,

This is my first post and I hope it finds itself in the correct place. I've been checking these forums for a while now and got some great tips but I couldn't find anything to answer my current question.

And now to the point, I have a wall in an upstairs loft conversion which is the joining wall in a semi. It's orginally solid brick with layer of plaster over the top, covered with several layers of wall paper which when stripped left the wall in a bit of a state. Rather than ripping down all the old plaster a builder put up a plasterboard wall over the top which has been painted. I was hoping to put up shelves on the wall but don't currently know the best way to go about attaching them to the wall.

Any advice would be much appreciated, cheers. R

I believe it's been glued to the orginal surface and then fastened with masonry nails. Maybe I should also point out it's not a whole wall, just a small area underneath where the two chimneys in the properties meet.
