Lovely condition, newish window. I've got the cill but it's also got a strip of plastic beading at the top. The brickwork is being built to fit the window size. Do I need the stick on beading at the top for any purpose or can I remove it?

Depends what it is?
If its clipped on to the outside of the frame then its likely to be and 'add on' or 'frame extender', used if you have a thick plaster line, saves losing too much frame behind plaster or it could possibly even be a drip moulding, either way you shouldn't need any of them really
