Iam about to fit a UPVC window in this area with sill, however i see the lead flashing isn't great in the corners see pics, can i get away with sealing all the way into the corners with lead sheet silicone and then silicone up round the frame? And a few beads across under the sill? The front face ply exopsed and cheeks will be timber clad.

that looks like a dormer so will be subject to high wind

personally Id be a bit nervous about leaks in those corners

ideally you want a lead tray that goes inside and up the back of the frame

One more question do I cut the upvc sill to fit the width if opening? Or do I cut it wider and cut the corners to fit the right depth I'm note sure why but see some of our existing window sills have been cut like this.
