Fittings for a Shower Mixer

Hi
I have a shower mixer that i want to install
It has a backplate that screws onto the wall.
It came with hard plastic inserts for between the backplate and the mixer and it talks about plastic pipe.
I assume that these plastic inserts act like a olive with the plastic pipe.
I want to use good ole' copper pipe. Would the insert work or is there another fitting i could get suitable for copper . I have added photo'd.
any info would be appriciated.

Where the pipe going to run, as copper pipes will corrode if in contact with limestone.

Best have it plastic then as copper gona cost ya!

I think the plastic inserts are sealing washers for the mounting plate.
