Fixing a new hardwood sill

I have taken out a rotten sill of an external door and have cut down the replacement to size, primed and ready to attach.

Firstly, I wondered if I needed to put some DPC down, previously there was slate and that is still in situ.

Secondly, how best do I attach the sill to the frame? I can't get access from underneath to screw/nail up into the frame.
