What do people generally use to hold the bottom of a clayboard/clayshield off the bottom of a foundation trench? I can see the lads in merchants looking at me as if I'm talking foreign when I ask. I'm thinking tent pegs will do the job but be interested to know what the 'proper' fixing is.

Thanks. [/quote]

Why does it need to be kept off the trench bottom?

I would just whack a stake through and into the trench side. The concrete will soon have it gripped.

Are we talking about vertical side protection here?

Yes vertical side protection. Drawing states 500mm min off trench bottom. Needs to be anyway to work for a 1200 board I've got about 1800mm of concrete depth. Spoke to a chap today who cuts t sections out of old bits of mesh. Good idea.
