Flexible tap connecting pipes

I want to fit a new washbasin,which is in an awkward place, but due to a lack of skill in pipe bending, I would like to know if flexible connecting pipes are a safe and reliable option,(the ones that are made of a type of rubber covered with a metal mesh) Many Thanks for any advice on the subject.

the slot in the spindles gets easily damaged
