i am going to attempt to bard out my loft which will be used for storage what size floor joists would you recommend i use ideally i would like them to support items upto about 150kg at least

You will need to span from one structural wall to another.

So, what are the spans involved?

i dont like replying to these kinds of posts as its not as simple as the "layman" thinks.if its a house and you have to span from front to back for example,you will need to put holes in the roof to get the joists in.
