floor lights

Hi, I want to put floor lights in my front room, the room has floorboards so access is not a problem.Would it be ok to use 100mm exterior deck lights, ive seen some in a catalogue but not sure which would give the best light for the room? fibre optic,elphin 7w fluoro or mains voltage.

it would be a novel idea. but it depends on how bright the lights are and how may you are planning to have and what are they for.

What are they for may sound silly, but if you put the lights next to a wall they will "wash the wall" giving a nice effect but not good for general lighting, but very good for changing the mood. (again it depends on how may and what brightness)

Also obvious though it is with lights pointing up you will get lots of shadows.

as for which i would go for the deck lights as they will be able to take knocks and bumps
