Hi I am looking at installing a woodburner in our lounge. I intend to route the flue through the attached garage then up through the roof of this garage.
I need to know how high does the flue have to project above the roof line?
Also as the garage is attached to the house, does the flue have to project above roof line of house?

What material does flue have to be made of? can it be enamelled pipe when running in garage? :?:

The general recommendation is 40 cm but this is for a clear air-space. When there are walls/roofs close by this is not clear cut.

You need to detail what's around your proposed flue-site.

The flue will have to be a twin-wall insulated stainless system, which you would take right into the house.

Stove pipe is only intended to be used for aesthetic purposes to connect a stove to an appropriate flue system. You can't use it as a flue.

Have you spoken to any local installers yet?

The flue must be 600mm above any roof line That includes the roof line of an adjacent building within 2.3m of the flue.

If you are not using a registered installer you must apply for building regs.
