A fault has developed with my Ferroli Maxima 35S boiler. The fault code indicates that the flue gas sensor may be damaged. This seems to have happened during the recent bad weather. Is it possible that rain water could have entered the boiler via the flue and damaged the sensor.

As the boiler will not fire up, is there anything I can do until I can get the fault fixed. :(

I'm afraid not. :( It's a safety device and provided for your safety. Any "fiddling" to get it working could have disasterous consequenses.

Water may have entered the outer flue duct and soaked the flue gas sensor/wiring. The flue should be horizontal if a standard lenght. Try the boiler in a while - it may have dried out.
