flue in chimney for gas fire?

Just pulled out a1930,s gas fire and surround going to replace with a new gas fire do i need to fit a flue liner, I am going to get the chimney swept?

And the answer is get a corgi in....fire fitting is not for diy. You are not competant as evident by your questions so your proposed gas work is illegal.
 
Once your chimney is swept ask the sweep to smoke bomb it if no smoke comes out anywhere else other than the one chimney pot then you should not need a liner but depending on which fire is chosen the instructions may ask for one but these are few and far between

I only asked a simple question. The work is being done by a corgi reg person but i just wanted to find out for myself.
