When putting in the foundations for a conservatory on a site that has four small tiers (6inches each tier)are the foundations tiered or are they dug to the same level (foundations at one end will be 2feet deeper than the other end?)

You can do either. Or you can step the bottom of the trench only, then do a trench-fill footing, ie the concrete filled to the same level all way round.

You can step the top of the footing also, which involves shuttering. And the overlap of the step is something like 1.5 times the height of the step. But check that 'cos I can't remember exactly.

Normally, your step will coincide with your foundation block/brick sizes.
