Frayed carpet

Hello,

I have an indoor cat that has pulled the carpet back by the door! I am thinking I need a wide carpet plate to cover it but I have no idea when it comes to which one to buy! Is there a particular type that I need for this?

I know the carpet looks awful but I can't justify to lay a new one down as I am hoping to sell the house this year.

You can buy these which would just screw down but you may find the cat just does it to another part of the carpet.
