Hi,

We've returned from a few days away and our hotpoint ffb6187 fridge freezer has gone off.

It lives in the unheathed "utility room" and it's been quite cold this week.

I'm aware fridges and freezers can have issues when the ambient temperature is colder than inside the units. Ours has just gone off totally, the power light is off and the internal light in the fridge is off.

We brought in inside last night into the heated kitchen overnight (we left it for several hours so gases could settle after moving it) but it is still showing absolutely no signs of life. I've checked the fuse is fine and power supply to it is ok.

Does anyone have clues as to what could have happened and how to put it right?

Many thanks!

I can't tell you what's wrong but we've had a freezer in an unheated garage for donkey's years, as have many others I know, and never had any problems even when outside temp is well below freezing.

Perhaps yours has expired for other reasons?
