Hi

Can anyone explain how I can determine if my combi-boiler is "fully-modulating" (without getting a gas engineer in!). Every mixer shower manual says the boiler must meet this criteria for the shower to operate correctly.

I have a definition of fully-modualting, but the boiler manual makes no reference to it, or anything relating to what I believe it to mean. Nor can I find any info on the net specifically regarding my machine. The boiler is a Barlo Duo, and looks fairly antiquated which can't be a good sign!!!!

Grateful for any pointers.

Cheers

I dont recognise that make and model!

You say its a combi but is it really? Do you have a hot water tank?

Best bet would be to ask the engineer who did the boiler service on it last year.

Thank you both for your replies. Very much appreciated. :)

The boiler is definitely a Combi - it does everything a combi should do (and I have no water tanks at all).

It is however very old and if it causes problem with the shower I'm about to fit then I'll have to replace it ahead of time (which will hurt the bank balance!).

If this turns out to be the case, then I sincerely hope I can find a legit reason why I can't have a condensing boiler!!! Those things are seriously pricey!!! ;)
