Hello all,

I'm trying to workout exactly what fuse I have as my primary overcurrent device and its short circuit capacity. It has the following markings on the barrel:

English Electric
BS88:1952
195
440AC4
TYPE RHL
60Amp

Thanks

It's a BS88 60amp fuse & off the top of my head I think its 16Ka short-circuit capacity.

BS88 is of the High breaking capacity (HBC) or High rupturing capacity (HRC) type. These typically have breaking capacities of several 10s of thousands of amps (80kA on the ones I frequently use)
