My son has just moved into a new house. Turned shower on and has water coming from the rear of prd. Is it just a case of removing the screws and replacing it with a new PRD?. After you have isolated water and electrics

Depends whether the prd is faulty or just relieving the pressure due to a blockage.

a PRD is like a fuse, you don't want to put a new one in until you've found out if there is a real problem or you'll just end up replacing it again.

first thing i'd do is check the hoze and head are clean and in in good condition, a worn out hose can kink blocking the water flow.

i'd also check anything inside the shower that can easilly be checked.
