Hi

Wonder if anyone can give me some advice - I want to build a timber framed garage 5.6x5.6m with trussed pitched roof, fully tiled with Marley Internit slates. There will be 2 courses of concrete block to sole plate then timber frame erected from that. The question I have is would it be ok to lay a floor slab as a foundation and build from that or should I put in a trench or strip foundation followed by floor slab.

Hope that makes sense, I know much depends on site conditions etc but any help I can get would be much appreciated.

What kind of soil do you have there? Is it close to any other buildings? Any trees close?
