I am looking at converting our integral garage into a playroom

The plan is to add a window into the side wall, partition 1/3 off at the front to keeps some storage space, raise the floor level and plaster out.

Questions
The boiler is in there - are there any special considerations?
do I need planning permission?
Do I need building regs?

Any other advise / comments greatly recieved!!

Thanks

Have an informal chat with the Building Control Officer in the local council. That is the best starting point.

It may only be a minor help but when a neighbour converted his garage and put a window in he raved about a site called www.shutters4me.co.uk for the best priced DIY shutters which solved the privacy angle re the window and made the whole room brighter and more modern. So possibly you should consider that simple addition to your window?
He hasnt even said he has a window.

And dont use the quote button where its not nessecary, in this case it made your irrelevant post even more irrelevant.
