I need to buy a replacement garden seat, previously a concrete seat was damaged by flying debris in the strong winds we have had. Can anyone advise me what is the difference between Stone Cast and Compressed white Sandstone and which is the best to buy. I live near the beach so get lots of sea/salt spray but don't know if that would make a difference to the type I should buy. Thank you for any help you may be able to give.

Compressed is stronger. Bit like the compressed slabs used on dives and council slabbing.
Cast stone is just poured like concrete.

That's my understanding. Maybe Google it to confirm.
Its only a seat. Either will last for years

Thank you for your reply, which was interesting. I was looking at two seats on the internet and the compressed has a better pattern and finish so will go for that. Thank you again for replying.
