garden strimmer

Ive a flymo strimmer and I am replacing the spool (line already loaded).Its not a like/like flymo part but a direct replacement from a large spares online supplier.
Ive loaded the new spool in but the line keeps coming out and too much of it.
It seems a basic feed system but the reason its doing this has got me baffled.
Any ideas thanks.

Didnt know whether to put this in the applience message feed or this one.

Help appreciated.

Two things to check......
Either the line diameter is too heavy or;
The spool hasn't locked in properly and can spin independently of the motor.
