Gardtec 300 series

Hello I am new to this forum, I hope somebody can help me.

I have a Gardtec 300 series alarm system, approx 10years old.

I am trying to install new light fittings therefore need to turn the power off throughout the house but as soon as I turn off the power at the fuse box the external alarm sounds.

Once this happens i run to the alarm and try to enter code to turn it off but there doesnt appear to be any power to it.

Is this because the battery back up has died ??

Can any body tell me how to disarm the box so I can have power off for a short while or should I get the battery back up sorted ?

Any help would be appreciated
