I have a horizontal bayonet fitting for my gas cooker.
Was told that these things are supposed to be vertical.
Is that correct?
Considering having the piping changed to make it vertical.
Thanks

Do you mean the back/wall plate?

Some cooker hoses have a right angle on the bayonet end and these should have the bayonet fitting horizontal. Standard hoses should have the bayonet vertical.

This is what it looks like.
Don't think it's illegal but probably not good practice.
What do you reckon folks?
Should I get it changed to vertical?

That needs completely ripped out and installed properly, what a mess
Yep, couldn't agree more.
I'm not a gas engineer but seems fair to me.
The usual gas engineer that does the yearly service and checks and fitted a cooker recently has never said a thing.
Only got picked up yesterday by another gas safe engineer.
