What type of gas fire can be fitted to an external wall? I'd like to fit a stone fireplace but don't know what sort of fire can be used. The present free-standing fire has a small flue straight through the wall.
Does my present fire contravene current legislation or can I fit something similar?
How would the type of fire I want be described?
Thanks for your help

You can still get something similiar fitted, by a Corgi with the right qualification.

Your current fire sounds like balanced flue which are far better than fan flued fires, less noise, draught and far cheaper and more reliable ,but its a limited selection. have a look at www.valor.co.uk flavel and kinder.. DOo a search for balanced fle fires and see what comes up

If it is not for decorative reasons, run your boiler a bit more, a lot cheaper than a fire.
