I need to :-

1. Remove my exisiting gas hob
2. Fit new kitchen worktop
3. Fit new gas hob

I will be doing step 2 myself and getting CORGI man to fit the new hob.

My question is: - There is no stop cock on the supply to the hob. I am very competent in plumbing. Can I remove the old hob myself and stop the end of the gas pipe using gas ptfe tape and blanking plug? This will allow me to remove the old worktop and fit the new one in readiness for having the new hob fitted. Or would you recommend two visits from the CORGI man?

Easy job if u are competent - AND so long as you do a tightness test before and after.
