we have a gledhill boiler mate 2 we have just had a plumber in who has told us that the pumps r not running and a possible fault with the time clock is there anyone who specialise in this particular boiler who can help please we live in norwich thanks

If I'm right you have three pumps on that system, one for the primary water, one for the CH, and the third for the DHW heat exchanger. On first impressions it sounds like the primary pump is not working properly so the boiler is overheating and banging, the heat store doesn't get up to full temp., and therefore the CH & DHW never do either.

Check the primary pump is operating (Boiler on, CH off, all DHW taps shut). Then check the small header tank (usually just above the Gledhill unit) is at least half full of water.
