Glow-worm 30BR Mk II pilot light

Hi hope someone out there can help.

Woke up this morning and pilot light on my Glowworm fuelsaver 30BR Mk II boiler was out. I held down the gas control button and pressed the igniter button. no joy. repeated a few times and still didnt light. I took the outer and inner casing off the boiler. Pressed the gas control button and tried the igniter. This time there was a flame but when i released the gas button (after holding it down for over 30 secs) the flame went out. this kept happening. When I replace the boiler case it doesnt light at all.

Any idea what might be wrong with it??. (i moved in 3 months ago and know nothing about boilers)

thermocouple and you do know (i hope) you shouldn't be in there

thanks for the reply! any idea how much it will cost to fix? will i need a new "thermocouple"?

t/c will cost all of 50 bob for a universal
prob about 5 quid for the mans part (but they are better quality )
