Hi,
Would anybody know how the auto air vent should be set on a Glow worm 30cxi boiler. Ther is a cap and a small plastic screw, shopuld this screw be fully closed or open slightly to allow a vent?

Cheers

All auto air vent caps should be left JUST loose by say 10° so that air is expelled but water is not able to leak too fast if they jammed.

Once the system has been commissioned and run for a few weeks some installers close them. This is not correct but does reduce callouts from them weeping. This is more common when the system water has not been properly cleaned.

careful!

some AAV's have a cap on top and a screw on the side. the screw should be left closed but the cap on top left open.

they are rare but from the way you have described it just be careful which one you open......you may get wet.

Isnt the 30cxi the usual top part with an "o" ring seal and held in with a clip?

im pretty sure it is but it pays to be careful anyway :D

The AAV has a small black plastic hole on the side and then a small plastic screw on top

open the screw slightly then.

if it leaks after you have opened it then get it replaced.
