Golf MK3 R Reg Rear Passanger side window

Hi All
The rear passenger side window on my Golk Mk 3 has stopped working all of sudden. Now all it does when the switch to operate it is depressed is make a buzzing sound length of which depands on how long the switrch id depressed! I would be grateful for any pointers as to what may be wrong! So far I have been told it could be the Motor or the Regulator? If so how do I test which one it is??? many thanks in advance for all your help in this matter.

Sounds like the mechanism is jammed.
Can either have a prod about in there and try and free it up, or get another motor & mechanism off ebay.

probably window motor, but check the rubber grommet near the door hinges for broken wires and also check the fuse related to the electric windows and the actual switch itself.
