Seems that, despite the innuendos about Liverpool fans causing trouble, it was the french authorities putting out false information then spraying tear gas at them. First excuse was the fans were late, (British police escorting them have said they were in place up to 2 hours before the gates were opened and were well behaved), then they said there were a number of fake tickets, (probable on both sides of fans), but authorities have not produced any evidence yet. Authorities have said there were a few arrests for 'minor offences' on both sides and are pleased with the fans behaviour.
I'm originally from Liverpool but not a football fan. Just get a bit sick of people jumping on the band wagon to blame the supporters when someone gets something wrong.
Oh and by the way, from what I saw of the game Real deserved to win after they picked themselves up in the second half. Liverpool wasted their opportunities in the first half.

Just make the goals wider and we can get away from these goalless draws that are invading major finals! I'm a long time football fan but don't waste my time anymore watching major finals. Either that or make it 9 a side with rolling subs, at least then it would be more attractive to watch rather than the protracted goalless draws with penalty shootouts.

I’m not a football fan, nor am I from Liverpool originally….but Bod stop being a dick with these sort of posts.

Your not a football fan? So how would you know.

Liverpool football club & fans need to stop blaming other and share some of the blame.

The venue holds 81000 people. So let's say Liverpool get 20000 tickets for the game.

An estimated 60000 Liverpool fans entered Paris last night. But possibly more. That leaves 40000 Liverpool fans in Paris without valid tickets. Hence why the authorities set up fan zones away from the ground. Some fans run past security over fences and barriers. Many had fake illegal tickets.

England fans stormed Wembley against Italy. What's the difference.

If it were not for Hillsborough teaching everyone that authoritaties
policing and grounds were not adequate and dated.
fans could have been killed. Again

Hillsborough 95 fans dead
Heysal 37 fans dead. I went football in those days I know the Policing was inadequate the league & FA where bunch of teats and the grounds dated and dangerous, but when are Liverpool going to shoulder some of the blame...

Just because I’m not a fan it doesn’t mean I don’t have any knowledge. I’m pretty sure every single team in the world, including the National teams have travelling fans that go without tickets to go to fan zones etc. Liverpool is no different. Pretty sure Wembley had issues with folks storming the barriers at the Euros.

Your comments about Hillsborough are ignorant and just disgusting. People went to a football match, and never came home. It was not their fault. My father in law was there that day in the crush and was lucky to escape…someone he went with that day was not lucky.

You’re a pathetic person. Constantly posting up thinly vailed racist, phobic and generally hate filled views on this form. The most pathetic thing is that your write them is such a way to give yourself a little bit of deniability as to what you’re saying, so you can hide behind that and pretend your not an angry little keyboard warrior. You don’t even have the balls to post your full views.

Anyway, you got the rise you were looking for with this thread. Congratulations. Hope you feel all warm and fuzzy inside now.

I've never gone to an all ticket game without a ticket. Yet plenty of my fellow Chelsea supporters have and done exactly what Liverpool and England fans have done. The difference is I know it was the Chelsea fans at fault. The majority were and are good law abiding fans it's the idiots who cause the chaos and Chelsea had plenty of them.

5 or so years before Hillsborough; I attended a game a Grimsby. Last game of the season I was a small 17year old. Chelsea were given maybe 1300 tickets for the away end.

There must have been 12 thousand Chelsea fans that day.

They broke the gates and stormed the terrace. I was crushed up against the fence. Some where climbing the fences onto the pitch to escape. The only thing that saved life's that day was that one one police officer gave the order to open the gates as he could see what was going on. I was lucky as I was by the gate. Something the police got very wrong at Hillsbough 5 or so years later. Them poor Liverpool fans at the front weren't to blame. It was the ticketless drunk fans that stormed the gates who were to blame.

Your comments about Hillsborough are ignorant

Watch this video. The camera angle is from the Findus stand.

I was to the right of the goal. Now bear in mind this was before Hillsborough... so there was alot of confusion as to what was going on at the time. Some fans thought it was just an excuse to invade the pitch. But most were escaping the crush. The boos are coming from Chelsea fans aimed at the fans on the pitch because they didn't get what was going on and there were a few dicks.

This all started happening before the game and the police had already started moving Grimsby fans out of the findus stand to the other end behind the goal to accommodate the Chelsea fans. In the end 3 sides were occupied by Chelsea.

Do watch it and then tell me if I'm ignorant and tell me why you know any better.

I have trawled most media outlets today, FB, on line newspapers, a friends twitter account and spoken with two friends from Liverpool who were at the game. No where can I find anyone, and I mean anyone who was there, anyone who was a reporter or anyone acting as an official of any capacity at he game, in France or in England say Liverpool fans were in any way whatsoever responsible for whatever happened last night!
What I can find plenty of are examples of french police, Uefa, and french ground officials acting irresponsibly and without thought for their actions. There are reports from journalists standing in queues with happy, friendly supporters who were suddenly pepper sprayed for no reason by french police. What some reports have said is there were french youths going around taunting supporters from both sides and neither sides supporters responded. But then neither did the french police disperse them. British police, (who always have a presence in an observational/advisory capacity at these games), also report there was no problems with the fans and it was the french and football authorities who totally got things wrong, did not follow standard procedures and had no organisational protocols drawn up or in place.
Stop looking for an easy scapegoat for others failings Bod. Just because you don't agree with the Heysel Stadium, Hillsborough Disaster verdicts after lengthy investigations doesn't make it right to drag them up every time there is an incident of unknown reason concerning Liverpool football club or it's fans.
You will notice I have spelt french with a lower case f. That is how much respect I have for that country!
