I have an external grant boiler. The boiler works fine, the rads heat up warm etc.
But when the thermostat calls for heat the boiler will fire up for about 2 mins then stop. Then it will fire up again in approx 5 or 10 mins for about two mins. I can hear it coming on through the night doing this and the rads have hardly changed temp so the temp hasnt risen enough to turn it back off.
It works better when I set the thermostat for a large increase in temp (3 or 4 degrees) it will stay on then.
All the switching off and on will surley use more oil?
It is a grant controller on the wall in the hall. I dont know much more than that, no manual for the controller. I am guessing its this that needs adjusting. Thanks for any help
