Have looked around on internet and paving site but could not find a response hence asking here. Gravel Driveway (it is not loose so I am not sure how they managed to bind it together ?).

There are now potholes so I was going to dig them out and put some gravel in and compress them. However I don't understand what they used to bind this thing with ?

Surely just putting in gravel and compressing, the gravel will move ?

I dont have the cash to redo the whole lot so I need to live with a small budget and repairs

thank you

its possibly just type 1 with a dusting of gravel on top. so the 'bound' stuff is just well compacted type 1. To repair pot holes in a surface like that you need to loosen the area around the pot hole by a metre or so rake it all level and compact it repeatedly with a virbrating plate

If it is road planings/arisings then the same applies.
