You need to ask an RGI.

Dunno why you think a simple command for heat could do that though.

thats why i believe it more of a coincidence as the room stat is only switch but wether the internal control thermostat can breakdown as all the common problems have been changed

Surely a lockout would indicate a combustion problem.

Does it FGA correctly?

Does it ignite almost immediately?

Tony

when you say lockout. which lockout? overheat or burner. usual intermittent fault that will gradually get worse is solenoid. could be number of things. though. best to get an rgi in

System controls cannot put a burner to lock out, only the burner controls will do this. Check the usual suspects; fuel supply (contamination, blocked filters) nozzle, photocell, combustion head settings, combustion analysis.
When was it last serviced? What have you checked when called to it?
What burner is fitted? Have you checked the pump solenoid?

service done, FGA all ok, pump pressure perfect, changed photocell, changed solenoid coil,(tried control box , checked wiring), burner lockout, ( sterling 50 ), thought,, been there for seven years 0.55x80 could it be short cycling as always been intermittent problems just worse now, no particular time may go to lockout(burner that is),, just wondering if anyone ever had problem with the internal CH control thermostat(87161076210), not correct differential, would it cause lockout, worcester suggested PCB that would be good if it had one , other than behind temp. control

Its much nicer when the thing goes in the huff when you are actually there....its a possibility that the motor start capacitor is breaking down, and thats now nigh on everything covered!
John :)

You done well there Joe, copied your master Agile and telling them they need an RGI, shame its an oil boiler

Yeah he needs an ROI.

It's a shame that over a hundred years of experience can't sort it for him.

;)

Remove the plastic wiring cover from the capacitor, you'll probably find a sticky residue on the unit. When you replace, use the Riello RDB capacitor, it is better quality.
