Hi,

I have fitted 3x 50w GU10 lamps into a bathroom. Originally the room was bright, when just the GU10 bulb was hanging from the hole. I have now fitted the chrome/glass shroud and there is a significant reduction in light levels.

When fitted to the downlighter, the bulb is approx 1.5/2cm above the height of the ceiling. This appears to restrict the light that is projected forward into the room.

Has anyone else experienced anything similar? Is there a cure? I know that you can get different "width" GU10 bulbs (narrow/wide beam), could this help?

At the moment, I am thinking about removing the fitting and finding something else.

Isolate power, remove lamp and fitting, and check if there's any adjustment that can be made to lower the lamp.
