I have a very large room which i want to put 11x mains downlights in.

The lights need to be able to be dimmed, If i go for 35w bulbs and split the circuits into 2 i could have 5 x 35w = 175W and 6 x 35w =210W

But i can only find the double dimmer switch in the chrome i want in 2x 250w max configuration

Which although will cover the wattage i require i have not derated the dimmer for the halogens, is this still necessary with modern dimmers?

I dont really want any more than 2 circuits. Any help will be appriciated.

Cheers, Adam

Imagine it lit by 400W of traditional pendant lamps - how bright would it be?

Or by 10 4' fluorescent tubes.

Then reflect on what a dreadfully inefficient lighting installation you plan to install.

I think i could be able to make do with 7 in the room instead.

Split 4 and 3 on the dimmers.

Is there any alternatives? They need to be flush and dimmable.
