Hello chaps

See attached picture , at first my heart sank , but then i can see there is two cores in the green yellow sheathing , one is cut right back as you can see

Should i do anything about that , or is the fact two are there , OK?

Thanks in advance

One of those two bare earths has broken off. You MUST have both of those two wires connected.

(And you need more than 5cm on the fly lead, nearer 9cm!)

Depends on the outlet, with a single mk, I would expect it to.

Maybe trim 10mm :)

i will be using a single MK plug socket chaps , o basically snip off the protruding core , then do it fresh 10mm of the 2 cores going into the socket ?
there is more length than appears , its the angle of the picture

yes, with mk there is 2 earth terminals. you can use the second terminal for your link to the bottom terminal of the backbox.

Eh? where did that come from?

In any case, IIRC there's only one earth terminal on a 1G socket.

Flameport probably has the full monty on that!
