Has my thermometer been killed or just died??

Hi all,

Bought a new house and it has a wired honeywell thermostat in hallway.

Now the doorway next to the thermostat has been blocked up.

I have now noticed that the display on the Thermostat has died! What I am unsure about is if the builders when blocking the wall up and skimming have damaged the wiring or has the thermostat just packed up?

Or will I have to buy a new one and replace to know? Or do I just get a wireless one regardless?

Does it run on batteries? What model is it?

Its got CM912 on it

If you press a button. The display illuminates but no numbers can be seen
