has my Trevi Boost been fitted incorrectly?

our plumber has fitted a Trevi Boost shower for us, the exposed pack. The water is coming into the mixer from 2 short right-angled pipes underneath the mixer unit, which spoils the sleek look of the unit. Can anyone tell me if my hunch is right the the water should be coming in directly to the back of the unit, so no pipes should be visible?

The pipes come out the wall into elbows in the bottom of the mixer.
You shouldn't beable to see the elbows once the chrome cover is on.

There are cut outs on the cover for pipes. Better to hide them but the design does allow for exposed pipework.
