I have a gas fire and would like to have some stone floor tiles in front of it instead of buying a hearth. Is this OK? Would they be heat resisitant enough?

Don't see a problem if a gas fire is heating the floor something would be very wrong with installation.

what is the original floor material? if its non-combustible then its ok to fit the fire on the tiles, if the floor is combustible then the hearth needs to be 12mm minimum non combustible material with the top of the tile being 50mm from the floor, (so you need to ensure the tile and adhesive are at least 12mm thick, sitting on 38mm timber

there is a minimum requirement for floor standing fires and is dependant on the floor material, ok the fire shouldnt heat the floor, but the requirements are there and must be adhered to
