Hi,

Over the last few weeks I have been waking up to more noise from my water boiler igniting and heating water.

The bedroom is located above the garage where the Potterton Suprima 60L is located (about 10 years old).

In the middle of the night, the boler ignition is very loud, then I can hear quite clearly the water entering the house and travelling through the pipes. It feels like the boiler is in the room.

This seems to be getting louder each night.

I am only heating water, the central heating is not being turned on. There is no banging other than the ignition which can be loud gush of noise.

Please do you have any thoughts on how to fix this or causes of the problem?

Thank you in advance..

The noise could be the boiler "Kettling" due to sludge build up
usually worse under light load condition such as "hot Water only"
it might be worth injecting Fernox boiler noise silencer into the primary water circuit this may reduce the noise to an acceptible level ;)
